Hi. I'm Rebecca — and I've spent 30 years in finance.
Not 30 years at the same desk in the same company. Thirty years working across different businesses, different sectors and different levels of financial complexity — from hands-on bookkeeping to board-level financial strategy. I've seen businesses that looked profitable on paper running out of cash every month. I've seen businesses with straightforward numbers that nobody had ever properly explained to the owner. I've seen pricing that was quietly losing money, costs that had crept up unnoticed for years, and profit opportunities hiding in plain sight.
That experience is what I bring to every client.
Why I started The UK Virtual Bookkeeper:
Most business owners see their numbers once a year — when their accountant files the tax return. By then it's too late to change anything about that year.
I started this business because I believe you deserve better than that. You deserve someone who looks at your numbers every single month, tells you in plain English what they mean, and gives you something specific to act on.

How I
Work...
I work exclusively with UK limited companies — established businesses with £250k+ turnover that have outgrown basic bookkeeping and want more than just compliance.
I don't do self-assessment tax returns or year-end accounts. I deliberately focus on bookkeeping, monthly management accounts and financial insight — because that's where the most valuable work happens during the year.
I work alongside your accountant, not instead of them.
Everything I produce, I can explain. No jargon. No complexity for its own sake. Just honest numbers and a clear next step.
A few things worth knowing:
• I work with a small number of clients — so when you work with me, you work with me directly
• I'm based in the UK — I understand HMRC, MTD, UK VAT and how UK limited companies work
• I've worked at every level of finance — so the advice is grounded in how businesses actually operate, not just how the numbers look from a distance
• I believe in long-term relationships — I'd rather grow with your business than start again every year
